Obimin Pluz is a pre- and postnatal supplements to help provide adequate supply of vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA, during pregnancy and lactation.
Folic acid, vitamins B6 and B12: Folic acid is required for the prevention of neural tube defects (NTDs)during pregnancy. NTDs are brain and/or spinal cord defects in babies that can be avoided with proper nutrition.
The health of the newborn depends on the mother's nutrition (in the womb and outside the womb for breastfed infants). It's critical to get enough EPA and DHA during pregnancy to support the baby's rapid brain and eye development, especially during the third trimester. Supplementing with EPA and DHA throughout pregnancy has been linked to a lower incidence of pregnancy problems like preeclampsia, preterm birth delivery and low birth weight.
Brain growth and development is very rapid during infancy and early childhood. DHA, the most prevalent omega-3 fatty acid in human milk, may be supplemented to nursing women to help boost milk DHA content, which is advantageous to the breastfed baby. In babies and children, enough DHA in breast milk has been linked to enhanced cognitive function, visual acuity, and psychomotor development.
